Interpretation of Dreams & Tongues

Sometimes people can hesitate to interpret dreams because they afraid of being wrong, and doubt what they may feel. However, a single dream can have many layers of truth, and that is why you should not be afraid to share your interpretation.

Scripture says. We know in part and we prophesy in part.

What this means is, no matter how great an Interpretation is, its only a part of the whole. So the more people interpret the more we get a full picture.

Secondly…

We interpret by the Spirit of Prophecy. And many times when you listen to a dream. The Holy Spirit can begin to minister to you truths beyond what was in the dream. Interpretation of dreams functions by the gift of interpretation of tongues. And when you’re interpreting dreams, you are prophesying, though you may not realize it.

Don’t feel intimidated. And if you feel something strong inside you, even if its different from what everyone else has said, go ahead and share it.

Interpretation of Tongues

A lot of us already have the gift of Interpretation of tongues, but we don’t recognize it. The bible says that a person who speaks in tongues, speaks MYSTERIES by the spirit.

1 Corinthians 14:2
For he who speaks in another language speaks not to men, but to God; for no one understands; but in the Spirit he speaks mysteries.

So the gift of Interpretation of tongues, is a gift of INTERPRETATION OF MYSTERIES. There three key ways that Mysteries of God are given to the church.

  1. Through the scriptures
  2. Through Dreams
  3. Through Inspired Utterance [Tongues]

The gift of Interpretation of tongues, can manifest itself in all those three areas. One of the best examples of this gift at work, is Daniel the Prophet. I believe this was Daniel’s main gift, and we see him interpret these three areas of mysteries.

The tongues are intepreted to Nebuchadnezzar’s son.

Daniel 5:25-28
25 “This is the writing that was inscribed: ‘MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.’ 26 “This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE: God has counted your kingdom, and brought it to an end. 27 TEKEL: you are weighed in the balances, and are found wanting. 28 PERES: your kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.”

When That Which Is Perfect is Come

1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.

For a long time, 1 Corinthians 13:8 has been used to argue that the gifts of tongues, prophecy and knowledge are no longer functional in the church. But is that true?

Journey of Tongues From Pentecost Till Today

Many of us act as if the church of Jesus died when the apostles died. We forget that Paul, Peter, John and the other Apostles founded functioning congregations that they left in operation. They had set overseers, prophets, pastors and bishops who carried the work of Christ forward, many of them under great persecution from the Roman empire. The church maintained its tradition of writing letters to one another, and as we read these letters we can see the journey of the church from the time John died up to now. In this journey we can see what happened to the gift of tongues, when it ceased and how? If indeed it ceased.Let me start with Words from Jesus.
