1 Corinthians 8:1-3 (NIV)
1 …We know that “We all possess knowledge.” But knowledge puffs up while love builds up. 2 Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know. 3 But whoever loves God is known by God.
A few years ago I had a vision where an angel came to me and said, “Do you know that there is a realm that exists parallel to your world, and in that realm exists knowledge concerning everything that is in your world.”
He said, “You should give your angels access to that world, and when you do you, will have access to all that knowledge, such that you will be able to look at anything or anyone, and you will immediately know everything about it. You will look at a tree, and you will know everything about it.”
I replied and said, “I hear you, but who are you?”
And it ended. I later came to understand that what he was offering me was access to what is called the Akashic Records.
There is a reason I responded by saying, “But who are you?” And there is a reason why I of all people would be tempted by such an offer of litimless knowledge concerning this world.
I grew up with both a great hunger and a great capacity to consume knowledge. By the time I was 10, I had read the whole bible over and over. I spent about 4 to 6 hours everyday in high school studying the bible, bible history and things around it. After the bible, I studied the Koran, and studied books around it, I studied the Book of Mormon, the writings of the church Fathers, and even the satanic bible. I studied new age books and new age authors. I read the Apocrypha, I read most of the so called lost books of the bible, and the Gnostic gospels from Egypt. I studied different preachers, the writings of the Persians, the Hindus and the Buddhists.
I was in pursuit of truth, and I thought by pursuing knowledge I would find truth, but at the end of that road, was two things: Pride and Unfulfillment. It took God performing a miracle of erasing my mind in 2008, so that I could be empty enough to receive the truth of Christ which surprisingly was all in the simplicity of the bible.
I give this history so that you understand that I write this, not as someone who is anti-knowledge, but someone who loves and appreciates knowledge. But God has had to warn me and teach me about the dangers and allure of knowledge.
It’s okay to desire knowledge, but we should not pursue knowledge in itself, we should rather pursue Christ and in our pursuit of Christ, he himself will give us knowledge that brings life, and fulfilment.
Lucifer – The Bringer of Light
The name Lucifer means – bringer of light. Light is figurative for revelation, wisdom and knowledge. When Satan came into the garden of Eden, what is it that he offered Adam and Eve? It was knowledge. Yet there is a certain dimension of knowledge which brings death. Adam and Eve had an option between a tree that brings life, and a tree that brings knowledge. They ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and that knowledge killed them.
Many times we read the bible, and we are left with a desire to know things for the sake of knowing. Moses was given the law, and the law of God brought knowledge of sin, and this knowledge of sin did not make people better, it actually brought death. Here is what the apostle Paul says.
Romans 7:9 (ESV)
9 I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died.
My point is, there is a certain knowledge that God hides from us, for our protection, just as Adam and Eve were forbidden from certain knowledge inorder to preserve their lives. The devil as the bringer of light, comes and offers this knowledge to us because he knows it is will harm us.
Deuteronomy 29:29 (NIV)
29 The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.
Prince of Tyre – Wiser than Daniel
The bible says this concerning the satanic prince of Tyre.
Ezekiel 28:3-4 (ESV)
3 you are indeed wiser than Daniel; no secret is hidden from you;
Why wiser than Daniel? Daniel was the chief of all the wise men of Babylon, and Babylon was the head of all the kingdoms. So Daniel was the chief of wisdom in all the kingdoms of the earth. Yet God says to this satanic prince, Indeed you are wiser than Daniel, because no secret thing, no mystery is hidden from you.
In all the false religions I have read, the allure used, the bait that the demons use, is to give you access to secret knowledge, secret mysteries that are not known everywhere else. We want to know the things that God do not reveal in the bible: why didn’t God tell us more about the cherubim? where is the Garden of Eden? So the devil comes with the answers that the bible does not provide.
Gnostism
In the time of the Apostles, there arose a sect of Christianity called gnosticism. Gnosis means knowledge. They were driven by a pursuit to get higher knowledge so they opened themselves up to receiving secret information from the spirit realm. After the apostles died, they wrote books in the name of the original apostles, because some may have claimed to enter into visions where they would see visions of Jesus as he taught the apostles certain secrets which they did not reveal in the regular gospels.
They wrote books such as,
1. The Acts of Thomas
2. Acts of John
3. The secret Gospel of Mark
4. The Prayer of Apostle Paul
5. The Apocrypha of John
6. The Gospel of Philip
7. The Apocalypse of Adam
8. Acts of Peter and the Twelve.
Unsuspecting Christians, will hear the word gospel or names of the apostles and rush to read these texts, seeking to have this knowledge that supposedly fills in the gaps. But they can be very dangerous books. As they give you this new information, they introduce ideas that are contrary to scripture. Some of the gnostic gospels claim that Yahweh the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, is actually an evil spirit. Some claim that there is another higher God who created both Yahweh and Lucifer, and then tasked Yahweh with the responsibility of creating earth. But Yahweh became selfish and wanted to enslave human beings, so he trapped them into these bodies as a sort of prison, to rule over them. And that Jesus came to free us from Yahweh, and take us to this other true God.
This information is what is now adapted in the Satanic bible, and some of it has returned in other so called New Age writings. These teachings will have lots of things that are found in the bible, but with very poisonous additions.
Here are two quotes from the Gospel of Thomas.
Gospel of Thomas
(85) Jesus said, “Adam came into being from a great power and a great wealth, but he did not become worthy of you. For had he been worthy, he would not have experienced death.”
(86) Jesus said, “The foxes have their holes and the birds have their nests, but the son of man has no place to lay his head and rest.”
Verse 86, is from the bible, but verse 85 is just nonsense.
True Knowledge
John 17:3-4 (NIV)
3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
True knowledge which brings life, is knowledge of God and Jesus Christ. This is not an intellectual knowledge, but knowledge that comes from having a personal relationship with him. When you depend on him, trust in him, have faith in him, and submit your whole being to him. As he leads you by his spirit, you get acquainted with who he is. When you become like him, then you have known him.
One day I was asked to teach on perfection, and so I began to pray to God to tell me what to preach. Then the Holy Spirit said to me, “Perfection comes from knowing God, knowing God through prayer and sanctification.”
If you desire knowledge, seek to be led by the Spirit of God, and He the Spirit will lead and guide you to reveal that which the Lord has given for you to know. I still read widely and read many books, yet it is not to seek hidden knowledge. I read as led by the spirit. The one whom I pursue is Christ. And all things are leant in the light of Christ.
God does not Make Mistakes
God is in control of everything. The bible we have is not a mistake. God would not go to the trouble of sending his son to die on a cross, and then fail to give the church a complete bible. Those books which were left out, were left out because God did not want them there. If God wanted the book of Jasher, or the book of Enoch to be part of the bible it would have been. The so called lost books, are lost because God did not want them to be part of the bible.
Here are some scriptures that show how much God is in control.
Psalms 139:13-16 (NIV)
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful,I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Acts 17:24-26 (NIV)
24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. 26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.
Isaiah 44:24-26 (NIV)
24 “This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb:
I am the LORD, the Maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by myself,
25 who foils the signs of false prophets and makes fools of diviners, who overthrows the learning of the wise and turns it into nonsense,
26 who carries out the words of his servants and fulfills the predictions of his messengers,
Rest easy and read your bible, and if you lack any information, ask the Lord and his spirit and he will guide you into all truth.
Be careful that the devil may use the allure of secret knowledge, to lead you into death.
